As I began to pursue my own career in medicine, I was also the teaching assistant for a class exploring different careers in the health sciences. Through working with students, long conversations with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and the first half of medical school I have continued to think through what it means to be a physician and the many important considerations along the way.
